Stuck
I am stuck on a sock. It really is driving me crazy. I want to make my marvellous husband a pair of wool socks. I have been working on one sock since Christmas and it is making me nuts. I wasn't thinking about the 96 stitches that I was casting on, or the fact that I was using size 1 needles, I found a pattern and it was for his size and away I went. It has been the thorn in my side since cast on. I have made 3 other socks for myself in no time. The problem with plain black wool is the monotony of the thing and the fact that many stitches means knitting for hours just for half and inch. I will get them done, but the second sock syndrome with this pair is going to be agony. I will have to be the little engine that could and keep chanting the mantra... I think I can, I think I can, I think I can......

Let the travelling begin!
After a very enjoyable afternoon knitting at the sticks and needles guild in Niagara Falls, I am more committed to getting to the knitting.
I have gotten my travelling scarf ready and will be on my way to the post office later this morning to drop it in the mail. After seeing one of my friends almost completed travelling scarves, I think i want to collect several over the next couple of years to make myself a lapghan by stitching them together...what a conversation piece that would be!
I am having a really hard time with hubby's socks, there are SO many stitches (96) and they it is on size 1 or 2 needles, I knit and knit and seem to get nowhere! Can I tell you... I hate cuffs. I am planning to keep going today on it... I want to see the heel before Sunday...that is not too lofty a goal, I can make it.
I am getting excited to get the next scarf and think that this just might be the project that keeps me going through the long winter ahead. Keep warm...stay safe and knit when you can!

Sockless!!!
I have never really thought of myself as a writer. That said, I do have some ideas about the passions in my life so this is a great forum.
I was snooping around ravelry (my new fav site) and it seemed that almost everyone was using a blog to show everyone the latest things that they are working on.
My latest thing has been socks. I made a pair out of worsted pink man made fiber. Well, they are nice...slippers. I was drawn in, just before Christmas, to Micheals and found Patton's stretch sock yarn. I had to start socks right away, you know how it is when you have new yarn! My only problem was, in the beginning, it was almost Christmas, how do you justify making something for yourself. Eurika! My sister would be someone who would appreciate the time and cost put into hand knit socks. They turned out way better than I ever expected, they don't fall off your feet, they are comfy... what more could you want? What would be the next problem? Let me tell you, more of the sock yarn, again I have to justify the purchase (after I had already bought them) Oh my hubby might need some...ok new pattern, new yarn lets go! ok, the pattern was a little more difficult to try with the verigated yarn...Will try his socks in a solid.
Fast forward to today...there is a little bit left of the yarn from sis's socks.....maybe anklets could be squeezed out?!? just about to turn the heel on the first one.. less blogging, more KNITTING!!!
